Disentangling the Concept of Well-Being in Very Old Age Using Rodgers’ Evolutionary Concept Analysis

Abstract Well-being has received increasing attention from researchers and policymakers, its promotion could be considered pivotal to handle the challenges of aging populations. However, many different well-being concepts have been used inconsistently, it remains unclear what concept refers among oldest segments population. Hence, there is a need for more cohesive understanding meaning in this particular context. The aim study was review scientific literature examine conceptualization very old age. Rodgers’ evolutionary analysis applied as guiding framework. A search through databases generated sample 568 unique articles published between 2009 2019, which 49 were included final analysis. Four main attributes age identified: multifaceted; intertwined with health quality life; ability adapt; part successful aging.
